Hyderabad: Shree Cement opened its new integrated facility in Dachepalli Village, Guntur on Tuesday. The new plant will have a 3 MTPA production capacity, bringing the total to 56.4 MTPA.

Built with an investment of Rs 2,500 crore, the plant will be Shree Cement’s sixth integrated production facility in the country and second in the southern region after Karnataka. It will serve the expanding markets of Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. The new unit should generate 700 direct and 1,300 indirectly jobs.

“The Guntur Plant uses advanced technology in manufacturing and controlling emissions to make high-quality, energy-efficient cement.” The plant will drive economic growth in the area through employment opportunities and partnership with local communities,” said Neeraj Akhoury, managing director, Shree Cement.

The plant was designed to use 30% alternative fuels and raw materials, such as municipal waste and bio-mass. It is 40ft underground in the mining pit. Around 75% of total power requirements are met…
