Reordering is a major undertaking

Re St. Leonard Oakley [2024] ECC Win 1, The Petitioners were seeking a faculty of reorder the Grade II* listed church to create a sizeable extension and new entrance linked to the west door [1]. The proposals, or parts of them, attracted adverse comment from Historic England (“HE”), the Church Buildings Council (“CBC”), the Local Planning Authority (“LPA”), the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (“SPAB”). The Victorian Society (“VS”) alone has opted to become a party opponent [2].
