The most recent Cannes Yachting Festival saw two silky, new boats moored on pink-carpeted docks. The Italia 14.98 was an elegant crossover performer which, one month later would sail to Annapolis, Maryland and win Cruising World’s 2024 Boat of the Year award for Best Performance Cruiser. Italia 12.98. This slightly more compact model would not have arrived in time for competition but it was made from the same fabric as the model that won the award.
Italia 12.98 was designed by the Italia Yachts Design Team in collaboration with Cossutti Yacht Design and Arbore and Partners Design. The yacht has a good blend of grace, speed and comfort. Borrowing similar concepts from the Italia 9.98, the 12.98’s streamlined hull hints at a sexy sailing experience, with a dynamic waterline length that adjusts with speed, mitigating pitching for enhanced comfort.
