Windows laptops powered by Arm processors are expected to challenge the Intel/AMD x86 duopoly in 2024. We've been hearing about Qualcomm's Snapdragon X for sometime, and now the first devices are being unveiled, with more to follow at what's shaping up to be a very interesting Computex in a few weeks time.

WalkingCat Visit Twitter (via Videocardz) revealed some pictures of a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 packing a Snapdragon X processor. But to what extent can such devices disrupt laptop markets? 

Though there's not much to glean from the handful of pictures, the Yoga Slim in question looks to be a premium ultra-thin option. I’d expect the first Snapdragon X models would be similar premium options and not some budget alternatives to x86 from Intel or AMD. It's not like MacBooks are regarded as cheap options.

Qualcomm’s sights are not limited to Intel or AMD. It also has Apple in mind. NotebookCheck has posted benchmarks provided by Qualcomm from an event held in London. The data shows that the Snapdragon X is able to compete well with Apple M3, Intel Meteor Lake CPUs, and AMD Hawk Point.
