Case studies are short narratives that are followed by questions to help learners work through the steps in solving a real world problem. Cases are engaging, ask learners to work at higher levels of Bloom’s taxonomy (i.e., apply, analyze, evaluate, create), and have been shown to be an effective way of learning (Lee et al., 2009; Thistlethwaite et al., 2012).
ChatGPT, a tool from GenAI (Generative AI), makes it easier for educators to create case studies. These tools are useful as writing and research assistants. The tools can also be used to create role-playing activities that are interactive and unique. This will transform the way in which cases are taught. This two-part series of articles will explain how GenAI can be used to create case study.
