You will find solitude along the river to be a valuable experience. Wading is the best way to spend a day with no interaction from other creatures than the fish and the odd mammal who sneaks into the water for a drink. 

It’s an opportunity to have a chat with yourself, as I often direct myself to a new pool or question my fly selection and then answer it without listening to someone else’s suggestion. It’s possible to find solitude by rowing your own driftboat or inflatable, but there are limited access points, and you may encounter other people. Few rivers have enough water to float. At least, not ones that offer good trout fishing.
