A Cat Care Champions
Michiko has been giving her time since 2012 to help the North Shore Animal League America care for our cats. Michiko’s love for cats began during her childhood in Japan, with a mischievous four-legged companion who stole her heart. Michiko was devastated by her parents’ decision to give her cat away. But miraculously, her pet managed to escape and find his way back. Her lifelong love of cats and the bonds formed with them were cemented.
Michiko is now a volunteer with Animal League America and enjoys caring for the cats waiting to be adopted. She is among the few who can remember the space before Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center was built, and so has a particular appreciation of the beautiful, sunny and cage-free environment our cats and kittens now enjoy.
One of Michiko’s favorite aspects of her shift is feeding time. She finds enjoyment in watching the cats’ excitement as they await their meal and enjoys making them happy. Her positive attitude and dedication have been noticed by both her co-volunteers and…
