Sheriff Bobby F. Kimbrough Jr. explained that, “Because this is a juvenile incident, we won’t discuss specifics, but will work with all parties to determine the most appropriate course of action.” At this point, our prayer is for the healing of both the teacher who was involved in this incident and those students that witnessed it.
WXII-TV reported that Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools has launched an investigation over the video.
“This behavior will not be tolerated,” Superintendent Tricia McManus said, according to WXII. “At no time is it acceptable for students to put their hands on a teacher in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. I am now focused on ensuring that our teacher receives the support and care needed to cope with the lasting effects.
