This mountainside house has an amazing patio, complete with a fireplace, infinity swimming pool, breathtaking mountain views, and an outdoor heater that is seriously cool.

The desert city of Scottsdale, Arizona, is set within the sprawling Sonoran Desert and overlooked by the majestic McDowell Mountains, so it’s no surprise that this spectacular landscape plays a pivotal role in shaping much of the area’s architecture.

Modern Sunset House is designed by AFT Construction and Cosan Studio with Alisha Taylor Interiors. It celebrates this landscape and emphasizes the connection from inside to out. Living spaces spill over into the outdoors, while expansive glazing frames views and heating and shading options ensure that the exterior areas can be enjoyed throughout the entire year.  

Modern Sunset House is located on 14 acres of hillside. During construction, a driveway stretching 1000 feet—more than three football fields—had to be installed to reach the remote location above Scottsdale.
