New Delhi/Chandigarh: Three Union ministers met with leaders of farmer unions protesting in Chandigarh, on Thursday. This was amid a standoff at two points along the Punjab-Haryana Border between protesters and the security personnel. Bhagwant Man, the Punjab chief minister, also attended the meeting held at the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration Sector 26 in Chandigarh.

At the meeting, the Centre was represented by Arjun Munda, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Piyush Goyal (Commerce and Industry minister) and Nityanand Rai, Minister of State, Home Affairs.

Talks lasted until the late hours of the night.

It was the third time the two sides had met. Both the previous dialogue rounds on February 12 and 8 were inconclusive.

Among those who attended the meeting were Jagjit Singh Pandher, the general secretary of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee and SKM leader Jagjit Dallewal.
