Spencer Rivkin’s performance at the 2015 World Championships in Tsukuba, Japan at Yatabe Arena was one of the most memorable JConcepts experiences. The Silencer body was specially designed and manufactured for the event. The “S2,” began as a carpet, and turf specialty body but has quickly become a favorite for racers who require a low-profile, low-drag body which whisks through the turns with speed and efficiency.
The S2 shell is the sleekest in the JConcepts line. The design is a clever one, one that keeps a lot of the heritage from previous generations but has a bit more edge. The computer-aided design was responsible for the symmetrical shapes, instinctive sharp edges, and other features that were never seen on a 1/10th scale off-road buggy before. The dual-window cab and chamfering on the outer profile are designed to fit the chassis. This allows for optimal performance.
The S2 body on the Team Associated RC10B7 comes with a rear scoop that can either be trimmed to increase airflow for the rear or left in place as a drag factor and rear downforce. A stabilizing fin at the center of the body extends from the front to the lower section in the rear. This allows for tracking capability when going fast. Rails are added to the lowered rear section on both sides, which increase durability and direct airflow.
A #gojconcepts standard recessed surface on the hood provides an additional surface for airflow, or it can be cut to provide inner cooling. The high performance item is designed to protect the RC10B7 Spur Gear Guard and fit it like a glove. The championship winning item includes two of the 6.5” Carpet | Turf | Dirt wing which is now a standard racing item around the world. The body comes with all trim and window line scribed on it and masks for quickly covering the inside of windows in order to perform user generated paint technique.
The body is made of clear polycarbonate and comes with a protective film. It’s available in both standard and light-weight thickness. JConcepts’ popular and versatile decal sheet can be used to customize the shell according to the preferences of the customer. A simple instruction sheet will cover the basics for beginners or those with little experience. The wings on the shells are made in America and packaged in Groveland Florida for customers who want a higher-end option.
