Hyderabad: The city witnessed the marriage of classical music and compassion as Sangitanjaly Foundation, in collaboration with the government’s department of language and culture, recently hosted the fourth season of their Classical Concert Series.

The concert was held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and featured Pt Bhuvanesh Kokali with Ajinkya on tabla, Abhishek on harmonium.

Dr Kundra, the director of Autism Ashram in Mumbai, stressed the importance to show empathy and not sympathy, when dealing with people who have autism, particularly during World Autism Week. He called on the audience members to be more sensitive, and to support those who are dependent on caregivers.

Dr Mammidi Hari Krishna, director of the language and culture department, reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering art and cultural activities. Abhijeet Battacharjee of the Sangitanjaly Foundation thanked the people for their support and said that the concert series was a great way to show off the different styles of Indian classical and its legends.
