Good Friday and Grief

At some point, we will all have to deal with the loss of someone close. This is part of human life, and we can’t escape it. Jesus, who took on the human nature when He became the Son of Man, wept at the death of Lazarus. Humans can’t imagine a more difficult experience than the death of a close friend. Every person experiences grief in a unique way.

As Christians, we are blessed to be able find comfort and peace through the message of GoodFriday. It is in Christ’s suffering and death that He shows us the greatest act of love. Our dearly beloved Lord gave up His life in order to offer us salvation. His death wasn’t the end but was the fulfillment of Old Covenant and the start of a life anew through Christ. The Resurrection gives us a glimpse into the Kingdom that is to Come and the hope of eternal life.

The Coronavirus was the cause of death for one of my closest friends in my faith-sharing group.
