Let me remind you that God loves you. How do you know? The Bible says so.
I’ll show you. Even if you’ve never opened a Bible in your life, you can find Genesis chapter one. Look at it sometime. Pay attention to how it portrays God’s love for you. You’ll notice a pattern. Each day, God speaks something into existence – light, land, or the sky. Then he looks at His work and declares it “good.” By the end of day five, God has deemed everything from the stars above to the animals surrounding us “good.”
Then comes the sixth day. The pattern is different this time. After God creates humans, He declares what He has done not just “good” but “very good.”
Next time you’re feeling lost or unappreciated, think about this. Take a walk outside to enjoy the scenery. Marvel at the trees, the sky and the animals. Look in the mirror. While everything around you is “good” in God’s eyes, with you in the picture it’s “very good.”
I’m telling you, no matter who you are, no matter what you’ve done you are created in God’s own image. You are very kind to Him. Don’t just take my word for it. It’s worth a read ….
