Former Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein, who led the club to two World Series championship before winning a third with the Chicago Cubs, is returning to the organization after joining Fenway Sports Group’s ownership group as a Special Advisor.
In his new role Epstein will advise FSG owners John Henry, Tom Werner, Mike Gordon and Sam Kennedy on the company’s sporting operations and consult on strategic growth and investment initiatives. FSG owns the Red Sox as well as Liverpool FC, Pittsburgh Penguins and RFK Racing.
