�Hyderabad: Mohan Guruswamy is a well-known economist and political analyst who believes that the BJP needs to do well in Telangana if it wants to secure at least 260 or 270 Lok Sabha seats. He said that projections of 400 seats are hogwash.
He made these observations while moderating a discussion on ‘Battleground Telangana’ at the Guruswamy Center in Secunderabad on Saturday.
“The BJP’s strength comes from the northern states where they had a 95 per cent strike rate. It seems that the BJP will lose seats in these states. Narendra Modi has made a big southern push to compensate for a fall of even 10 per cent in those states. Congress may lose some votes because its choice of candidates isn’t right. A BRS MLA is now its MP candidate and he not even resigned from the BRS,” he said.
According to surveys, 62% of people believe that unemployment is the greatest problem. Congress does not talk about it, and should instead focus on healthcare and education rather than harping on the corruption ….
