Marvels Carol Danvers a.k.a. Captain Marvel travels to an anomalous, wormhole-like hole linked to a Kree revolution. As she investigates the mysterious phenomenon, her powers are inexplicably intertwined with Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. This unlikely group must work together to save our universe.

As a fan of 2019’s Captain MarvelI was eager to return to this corner of MCU. Unfortunatelly, an excessive amount of narrative threads along with odd tone shifts and misplaced gimmicks resulted in a disappointing entry. The idea of the three heroes joining forces is a great one, but trying to give each of them equal narrative weight is what goes wrong. The lack of a well-drawn villain and a hurried runtime didn’t help matters. Hopefully, the next installment — if there is one — gets things back on track.

This film is boldly colored, using stylized visuals with stark contrast, varied chromatic elements, and lots of CGI. The level of detail and emboldened chromatic highlights underscore the film’s thematic impact. The high dynamic range…
