Carlsbad Aquafarm, Carlsbad in California
Carlsbad Aquafarm has its origins in the construction of Cabrillo Power Station, which was built in the early 1950s. An aquaculture research facility, established to improve and maintain the ecological health of Agua Hedionda lagoon, supported its diversity of wildlife, shorebirds and marine life. The farm offers guests tours and tastings. It grows oysters and seaweed. Bonus: Children under 10 years old can tour the farm for free. This is a great way to bring the family together.
