These new JConcepts bodies will be debuting this week in Chandler, AZ at the IFMAR 1/10 Off-Road Electric Worlds. They had some interesting things to say about their upcoming products.
The IFMAR World Championships are the pinnacle for RC racing. It is a great place to launch new products and debut performance. Designed, built, and produced in the last minute, the new S15 body for the B74.2 and B6.4 vehicles is everything you’ve come to expect from JConcepts. These new shells carry the heritage of IFMAR World Championship winning design S15.
JConcepts decided that it was time to design the S15. The team incorporated lessons learned from the lineage and focused on the cab position, deflection angle, hard-edged JConcepts chamfering, and side pod wings. The S15’s single-side windows are a departure for the usual JC body shells, but they fit in well.
The new item is designed to fit the chassis perfectly and has no unwanted gaps. The roof fin on the center line helps the body to withstand crashes and excursions off track. It also provides tracking capability in straight lines. The side pod’s top rolls down into the rear section to help with the force that is placed in front of the tires. There is a section behind the cab that can be trimmed to allow hot air or inner shell buildup to escape.
The rear of the car has a climbing spoiler that increases rear downforce. Turf | Turf | Dirt wings, and backed by JConcepts customer support and racing heritage. You can expect these two styles to be available by the beginning of October. #gojconcepts
Larry Genova is to be commended for his paint.
NOTE: This is not Ryan Maifield’s actual car. This is the vehicle we have with his body.
