Skills-Based hiring in the Public Sector

With funding from Walmart.org the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices, (NGA Center), is launching a State Community of Practice focused on skills-based recruitment in the public sector. This initiative will bring states together, especially those that have taken significant steps to remove the degree barrier for public sector jobs, to learn more about skills-based recruitment strategies and emerging best practice for talent development. This CoP will include monthly virtual cohort engagements with experts and implementation partners between January 2024 and September 2024. The cohort will have access to an extensive convening in Washington DC on skills-driven practice in April 2024. NGA will cover the travel costs of state representatives attending the cohort. The deadline for completing this form initially is Friday, January 19, 2019. After that date, additional states may be included on a per-case basis.
