Taja is a pioneer in the local arts scene. She is a local artist who has taken up endeavors within the community which have catapulted her into a spotlight that she could never imagine as a teenager. She is the leader for the DOSE Artist Collective. Their mission is to provide opportunities for artists to experiment, collaborate and share their work with the community – in the form of affordable housing, studio and gallery space.

What inspired you to pursue your artistic passions and interests?
I began acting in high school. I didn’t want to be an actor, but was more interested in the production side. I studied at UNC School of the Arts, where I graduated in 2019. I was trained as a Set Designer during that time. I enjoyed set design but wanted to go to the next level by incorporating art curation and spatial design.
