In a previous article, I wrote about the dangers of a de-facto state media in America due to the amount of advocacy and bias. This system can be created by consent, not coercion. Given that long concern, a letter drafted by the Biden White House Legal Counsel’s Office was striking in a call for major media to “ramp up their scrutiny” of House Republicans “for opening an impeachment inquiry based on lies.”
The message is curious and concerning, particularly in the aggressive role being played by the White House Counsel’s office under Stuart Frank Delery.
As I’ve noted before, the White House has been actively involved in pushing narratives, and denigrating factual allegations, linked to the Biden scandal. This could lead to Nixonian accusations of abuse of office by using federal employees against impeachment attempts.
