Lionsgate implements mask mandates in some office portions

After more than three-years of COVID-19 panic that led to the widespread mandate of masks in the U.S. it seems that these mandates could be making a little bit of a return.

Deadline reported Lionsgate’s mask mandate. Lionsgate/Starz response manger Sommer McElroy had announced the move by email to employees. The email stated that some workers had recently tested positive for COVID-19 and that the mask requirement is only applicable to the third- and fifth-floors of the building. According to Deadline which reported the facility to be located in Santa Monica California, this was a result from recent COVID-19 testing.

McElroy stated in his memo that “employees are required to wear a medical-grade face covering (surgical or N95 mask) indoors, except when alone with the office door closed, when actively eating or drinking at their workstation or desk, or if the employee is the only one present in an open area.”

Morris Brown College in Georgia recently announced that it would reinstate a mask requirement.

A notice on Instagram stated that “all students and employees must wear face masks” (staff can remove them in their offices when alone). Students must maintain physical distance.
