THE ALL-NEW SPORT 3 VENOM 2: DRIFT TRUCK OR RACE TRUCK? Why not both?!

HPI’s bodyshell designers had total freedom when designing the original HPI Venom T-10 Pick-up bodyshell. It was now time for a 2024 update. A modern street look was the goal and the result is the Venom 2 T-10 body – a state-of-the-art pick-up design with smoking-hot good looks and wild graphics!

The new Venom 2 chassis is combined with the classic Sport 3 chassis to provide ultimate convenience!

The Sport 3 chassis is the latest evolution of HPI Racing’s on-road design. It features a completely sealed and highly efficient ball-bearing-supported shaft drivetrain for maximum efficiency combined with reduced maintenance. The suspension system is inspired by full-size racing, and features oil-filled coil over shock absorbers with a dual wishbone suspension. There are no exposed drivetrain or gears that can get caught in rocks or dirt. Also, the fully sealed drivetrain eliminates the possibility of these parts getting stuck. This is an all-around car that’s ready to go!

We didn’t stop there, either – included in the box are not one, but TWO sets of tires, so you have your choice of wild drift action or speedy ‘grip’ driving for track and street use! It’s completely your choice!

Work Meister S1 Wheels

The Venom 2 Sport 3 is fitted with WORK MEISTER S1 wheels, which provide a super-cool ‘retro mod’ look, bold and minimal at the same time – aggressive and functional, perfect for either the street or drift truck look. Work wheels are used extensively by motorsports teams competing in GT300 and GT500 as well as Formula 3 and the N1 endurance race series. On the streets, they can be found on anything from McLaren F1 racecars to Spoon Sports Honda Civics.

RACE? DRIFT? It’s up to you how you drive it!

The superhot pick-up truck body of the Venom 2 is ready for sideways drift action or street racing – just fit the right tires and you are off!

Venom 2 Sport 3 includes 2 complete sets of tires. Advan Neova AD07T-Drift tires are made of hard plastic, and mounted on 5-spoke black impact-resistant wheels.

You can choose to go street bashing, or even racing on the track using the grippy rubber Spec-Grip tire. It is mounted and glued onto black 5-spoke impact-resistant wheel.

VENOM 2: THE ULTIMATE SLAMMED PICKUP!

HPI’s RC version is a long-standing tradition for street trucks that have lowered or slammed profile. These mini-trucks are highly sought after. Venom 2 is the latest addition to the line, which offers a contemporary and fresh look.

It reflects the current trend on the truck market, where big hoods with even bigger grilles are the norm. The Venom 2 pays homage to street trucks’ long-standing traditions, despite its modern touches.

The Venom 2 is 200mm wide and designed to fit most touring car chassis. The bodyshells from HPI are crafted from robust clear polycarbonate—a material known for its high tensile strength and durability. Despite its strength, the material still retains flexibility. This makes it a top choice for RC bodyshells.

ONE-PIECE MOLDED CHASSIS

The chassis, which is molded from one piece reinforced plastic, has the drivetrain tunnel in the middle. This mimics the real car. It’s a step beyond any plastic tub chassis car available today.

Low Profile Layout Design

To give the Sport 3 the best handling, we made sure to fit all the components as low as they could in the chassis. This results in a car with an incredible low center-of-gravity for maximum cornering abilities.

2S LIPO CAPABLE

The Sport 3 comes with a flexible electronic speed controller which can be used to control modern nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH), or lithium-polymer batteries. Please note that a LiPo plug is not included. Your model shop can provide you with one.

FITS A WIDE RANGE OF BATTERIES

The Sport 3 chassis is compatible with a variety of lithium-polymer and nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH), including extra-long NiMH 7-cell packs. No matter what your power needs are, this chassis can accommodate them! A thick hook-and loop strap secures the pack in place. A simple battery blocks screws into the place and allows you to adjust your weight distribution for more steering or acceleration.

ALL-NEW RADIO GEAR

The Sport 3 is simple to drive thanks to the All-New 4-Channel 2.4Ghz TF-51 Transmitter.

The NEW RF-51 receiver features a waterproof silicone inner jacket for use in any weather and a built-in failsafe – Signal on the RF-51 for the cars and signal and battery life for the RF-51N on the Nitro! The HPI 4-way LED Adaptor will be available soon to add taillights and headlights using the LED Light Controller!

FULL-TIME FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE

The Sport 3 has full-time 4-wheel drive for maximum control and precision, whether on the road or the track. Like a real automobile, the Sport 3 is driven by heavy-duty differentials in both front and back. Extra traction allows for increased cornering and acceleration control, giving you maximum fun and confidence.

SEAL SHAFT DRIVETRAIN

The Sport 3 models feature a longitudinally mounted motor, which is located next to the long drive shaft that runs down the centerline of the vehicle. The entire drivetrain is sealed, including the central drive shaft and gear diffs. This prevents dirt, rocks, and debris from damaging the drivetrain or causing it to become stuck. Driveshafts, axles and diffs are all mounted on ball bearings for maximum drivetrain efficiency.

BOTTOM-ACCESS DRIVERSHAFT

From underneath the chassis you can easily access the central driveshaft, which connects the differentials at the front and back. This allows you to completely seal the drivetrain, protecting it from debris and rocks no matter how far or where you drive.

Option: CARBON-FIBER COVER FOR DRIVESHAFT

The stock driveshaft covers on the bottom chassis can be easily replaced with a carbon-fiber cover. This will provide extra stiffness as well as a cool look.

EASY ACCESS DIFERENTIALS

Getting to the differentials for quick adjustments is a matter of removing just 4 screws – this allows you to pop out the diff and change the grease, check the gears or just give it a general service.

4 GEAR METAL DIFFERS

The bevel gear differentials are located at the ends of the car and transfer the power from the driveshafts to the axles, dogbones, and wheels that drive the wheels. The drivetrain is made of all metal, which allows it to be upgraded easily in the future. The differentials are supported by rubber-sealed bearings, and each diff is adjustable independently using diff grease.

DIFF SPOOL OPTION

The optional diff lockout removes all diff actions for direct traction and brake action from your finger trigger straight to the wheel.

DOUBLE WISHBONE FULLY ADJUSTABLE SUSPENSION

The suspension of Sport 3 uses a race-proven, double-wishbone design similar to that used in full-scale race cars. You’ll be able to control the anti-squat and anti-dive of the front and rear arms using the standard pivot blocks, and the option parts allow you to adjust the sweep and toe angles. You’ll also be able to easily change the roll center front and rear with the racing-style vertical ballstud mounting on both the inner and outer camber link mounts. Multiple mounting positions for shocks allow a full range to be adjusted in order to adjust shock suspension angle.

CARBON-FIBER SHOCK TOWERS ARE AN OPTION

The carbon fiber shocks towers add extra stiffness and performance to the suspension. Carbon fiber is a lightweight material that lowers the weight of the Sport 3’s center of gravity.

OIL-FILLED THREADED SHOCKS

The Sport 3 is fitted with a set of composite coilover-style oil-filled shocks, just like what you’d see on a real race car! The shocks can be adjusted to achieve the best chassis performance for a variety of road surfaces. The shock collars can be quickly adjusted to change the ride height. Additional tuning adjustments can be made by changing springs and shock oils.

OPTION : ANODIZED THREADED ALUMINUM SHOCKS

For optimum performance, you’ll want a set of anodized aluminum threaded shocks that are machined to perfection. You can make precise tuning adjustments with the full anodized aluminium threaded shock bodies, aluminum shock collars, and aluminum top-and-bottom caps.

TOUGH FRONT AND END SUSPENSION

The Sport 3 front end uses the strong C-hub style suspension seen on the latest RC touring cars, with a vertical ball stud camber mount that lets you change the front end roll center – which is a critical racing adjustment that allows the Sport 3 to be a step above other sport-level RC touring cars. The suspension arm has multiple holes to mount shocks for quick shock angle adjustments.

TUNABLE REAR SUSPENSION

The rear hub features a vertical adjustment ball stud that makes it easy to adjust the rear roll centre. With the optional spacers, you can move the ball-stud up or lower to change the traction characteristics at the rear as the vehicle turns. The suspension arm has 3 different holes for mounting shocks to adjust the shock angle.

CVD DRIVESHAFTS – OPTION

The optional CVD all-in-one drive shafts increase precision and efficiency in the entire driveline as well as steering to maximize driving performance.

OPTION: ADJUSTABLE CAMBER LINK TURNBUCKS

You can fine-tune your Sport 3’s camber settings with the optional set of adjustable turnbuckles.

DOUBLE BELLCRANK STEERING

The double bell system is a performance-tested adjustable system that provides maximum steering precision at any speed. A metal draglink plate connects both cranks to provide extra durability. Additional drag link mounting positions allow Ackermann angle adjustment.

RUGGED SPRING LOADED SERVO SAVE

The Sport 3 comes with an adjustable cam-style servo protector that protects it from damage in a crash. In the event that a collision or crash occurs, the front wheels will usually absorb a large portion of the force and then transmit it directly to the steering wheel servo. The spring-loaded cam of the servo saving device is designed for this purpose and to protect the servos gears against impact.

ALUMINUM MOTOR MOUNT

The cast aluminum cam motor mount is designed to hold the motor securely in place, ensuring a strong pinion/spur connector. Two screws secure the cam in place on the mount. Cooling fins on either side of the support help to dissipate heat and keep the motor operating as efficiently as possible.

Rubber-shielded ball bearings

Sport 3 has a complete set of rubber shielded ball bearings to ensure maximum efficiency. The rubber shields keep the dust away from the internals and the lubrication where it’s needed, while the smooth precision bearings provide optimum power delivery from the power source out into the driveline.

RUGGEED FRONT BUMPER

A thicker foam bumper protects the chassis, front suspension and body of the Sport 3 from any impact.

CUSTOMIZE LOOK

HPI offers a wide range of options for wheels, tires and bodies to customize your Sport 3’s style.

ADJUSTABLE HEAT BODY MOUNTS

The adjustable body mounts allow you to fit any HPI Racing touring car body in 1/10th-scale onto the Sport 3 chassis. The only thing you have to do is adjust both the front and back body mounts in order to get the chassis and wheels to fit under the body. The body pins keep the mounts in position, and multiple mounting holes allow you to fine tune the exact fitment of the body.

BODY CHOICES

Fit any HPI Racing 1/10th scale touring vehicle body onto the Sport 3. This includes hot hatches, supercars and pick-up trucks. You only need to adjust the front and rear body mounts to get the wheels to fit under the body. The body pins hold the mounts in position. You can adjust the fit for the perfect ride height.

MANUAL COMPREHENSIVE D’INSTRUCTION

All HPI Racing Kits come with a multi-language, detailed instruction manual. The Sport 3 comes with exploded diagrams, detailed information on your kit and a wealth of other useful details. The manual can be downloaded to your own electronic device so you can refer to it on the move.
