Mount Olympus, the mythical birthplace of the gods, is still a popular place to visit. Mount Olympus, in the Taurus Range near Antalya in Turkey, seems to be the best candidate. Mount Olympus seems to rise directly out of the water to a height of nearly 8,000 feet. The snow-capped peak gives a wintry grandeur, even in spring.

The Med waters offer some of the best cruising grounds in the world. I met the Bering 92 anchored in the small fishing harbour of Poyraz Pasa. Alexei Mikhailov, the CEO and owner of Bering, saw us waving at the breakwater. He came to get us in the Hysucat catamaran RIB (he also builds these). The anchor chain rattled as we ate breakfast on the 92.

Berings is built in Antalya because of its relaxed regulatory environment, low tax, low wage and proximity.
