Do You Need A Multivitamin Supplement?

Five physicians from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in the U.K. and Warwick Medical School made a bold declaration in 2013.

“We believe that the case is closed—supplementing the diet of well-nourished adults with (most) mineral or vitamin supplements has no clear benefit and might even be harmful. These vitamins shouldn’t be used to prevent chronic diseases. The statement was based upon decades of experience large-scale studies There was no evidence to suggest that multivitamins lower the risk of heart disease, cancer, memory decline or heart attacks. 

The case is never closed in science. 

This year, A controlled randomized study After a year, memory tests showed that more than 3500 people aged 60 and older who had taken multivitamins daily for three years performed better. After three years, neither the multivitamin nor the placebo groups showed any age-related memory decline.
