“For the front porch and the front door, wreaths are my biggest inspiration,” homeowner Robbie Mahlman says, noting she’s really only a fan of traditional options. She sources everywhere from small makers to big-box stores to her own creativity, and she often fashions the rest of the design around the wreath she’s using at the moment. If you’re building your look around a focal point, choose items that compliment both the colors and textures of that piece.
Robbie’s must-haves for a fall porch? “Pumpkins and mums,” she says. She looks for mums and pumpkins, rather than looking for specific varieties.
