The 27th Meeting of the Council Of Governors is Held

The Council of Governors will meet in Atlantic City (New Jersey) on July 12th, 2023 for its 27th meeting. The Council provides a venue for 10 bipartisan, presidentially appointed Governors to interact with federal officials about issues affecting national security, homeland, cybersecurity and disaster response and recovery.

During the meeting Governors heard from senior federal officials including: Deputy Secreatary of Defense Kathleen Hicks. Director of Cybersecurity and infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Jen Easterly. Assistant Secreatary of Defense Melissa Dalton. Homeland Security Advisor of White House Dr. Liz Sherwood Randall. Director of Intergovernmental affairs of White House Tom Perez.

The Council’s focus is on National Guard issues, cybersecurity, emergency response and disaster management, as well as workforce and military matters, such the expansion of the Military Childcare in Your Neighborhood plus program into other states and the status of its current program.  

Members of the Council of Governors are: Delaware Governor Mike DeWine (Co-Chair), Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (Co-Chair), and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
