The media has been criticized for some of its most brutal criticisms. The Simpsons Homer was delighted when he discovered that his hotel offered complimentary copies of USA Today—“the newspaper that tells me everything is going to be Ooooo-K.” That’s a pretty fair assessment of USA Today. It could also apply to conservative publications or pundits who insist that our society and economy are fine as they are.
