Pit bulls killed a man in South Carolina, and two dog owners were arrested.

Two South Carolina pit bull owners were arrested after two dogs mauled a man to death.

On November 1, Shannan McCrackin, 45 and Kenneth Howard Swayne 44 were both booked into the Berkeley County jail. The Berkeley County Detention Center was holding both.

McCrackin is charged with two counts of dangerous animal unconfined in premises and involuntary killing. McCrackin posted a bond of $25,000

Swayne has been charged with two counts for dangerous animals not contained on premises. Swayne’s bond is $10,000.

Around 5 p.m. last Tuesday, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a dog attack in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.

According to law enforcement authorities, a man aged 65 was mauled into death and was pronounced dead on the scene. David Eller was identified as the victim.

The Post and Courier reported: “David Eller was killed by two pit bulls while walking through his neighborhood, Pleasant Oaks Mobile Home Park near Old Whitesville Road. Berkeley County Coroner Darnell Hardwell stated Nov. 1.”

The ma was pronounced deceased on the spot.

Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lee Lewis told the court: “This was an attack that should never have happened. It was vicious and it shouldn’t have been allowed to happen.”
